Couples Training
Work Out Together, Get Results Together
Looking for something to do together beyond brunch? Build strength, accountability, and connection through shared fitness at My Train Station in Miami
Why Couples Training Works
Training together isn't just about working out in the same room. It's about shared goals, mutual accountability, and genuine connection.
Shared Goal = Shared Effort
When you train separately, your fitness journey is isolated. When you train together, you see what your partner is capable of, support each other through difficult sets, and celebrate wins together. That shared experience builds connection.
Accountability Multiplied
Solo accountability: "I'm not going to the gym today" just affects you. With a partner: "My partner is expecting me. I'm not letting them down." That doubled accountability is powerful.
Quality Time, Redefined
Couples often spend quality time doing passive activities: watching movies, going out to eat, scrolling phones. Active quality time is different - you're focused on each other, working toward something together, communicating and encouraging. That's genuine connection.
You're Already There
If you both need to exercise, why take time separately for two workouts when one couples session gets you both done? You save time, spend time together, and both get results.
"We Have Different Fitness Levels" - Solved
This is the most common objection to couples training. It's also completely solvable.
Here's How It Works:
Your trainer designs the same workout with modifications for each person.
Example: Barbell Back Squats
- Partner A does 180 lbs for 8 reps
- Partner B does 135 lbs for 8 reps
- Same exercise, same time together, different loads
The Beginner + Advanced Scenario
What if one partner has trained seriously for years and the other has barely exercised?
- • The advanced partner becomes a mentor, supporting and encouraging the beginner
- • The trainer manages intensity appropriately - heavier weight for one, proper form focus for the other
- • Progress timelines differ - the beginner makes rapid progress, the advanced partner refines technique
- • Over 3-6 months, the gap narrows significantly, creating an ideal training dynamic

Frequently Asked Questions
What if we have different fitness levels?
This is actually very common and completely workable. We design the same workout with modifications for each person. You'll do the same exercises side by side - just with different weights, reps, or intensity levels appropriate for your individual abilities. You're working together, not competing.
Is couples training more expensive than solo sessions?
Couples training is often more cost-effective than two separate solo sessions. You share the session time and split the cost, making it an affordable way for both partners to train with expert guidance. Contact us for specific pricing.
Can we train at different times if our schedules conflict?
Yes. While training together is ideal for accountability and shared experience, you can also book individual sessions when needed. Many couples do 1-2 sessions together weekly and additional solo sessions based on their schedules.
What if one person is more motivated than the other?
That's incredibly common. Often one partner books for both, and the less-motivated partner becomes engaged once they start seeing results. The shared experience and mutual support usually balances motivation over time. We make it enjoyable, not forced.
Do we have to do the exact same workout?
Your workouts will follow the same structure and exercise types, but modified for each person. If one partner has a shoulder injury, we adapt that movement. If one is stronger, we adjust the weight. You train together while respecting individual needs.
Can we train with friends instead of romantic partners?
Absolutely! Couples training applies to any pair - romantic partners, friends, siblings, parents and adult children. What matters is mutual accountability and a shared commitment to getting fit together.
